Showcase Description
Since transitioning from orchestra conductor to singer songwriter, Eric Paetkau has captivated audiences with more intimate concerts that forge deep connections, exchanging the grandeur of the symphony hall for the warmth of more personal spaces.
Eric’s performances resonate with a genuine passion for storytelling, as he combines stories from an incredibly varied life and musical career, alongside a mix of original songs, crowd-pleasing covers, and even a silly kids song or two, thrown in for good measure.
Creating a harmonious blend of classical finesse and folk simplicity, audiences will be enchanted by the delicate nuances of Eric’s voice, and the emotive resonance of each song. His concerts have become cherished moments of shared vulnerability and artistic exploration, creating a welcoming atmosphere that touches hearts, young and old.

Also a kids’ entertainer under the alias Mr. Snotsense (It’s not sense), Eric performs concerts and song-writing residencies at schools for K-3 students.
His school concerts provide learning couched in silly fun and nonsense. With engaging songs and audience participation, Eric sneakily teaches rhythm, rhyming, pitch, and singing. For his songwriting residencies, he draws out each student’s imagination to create original melodies, exciting harmonies, and storytelling lyrics.
An orchestra conductor for 20+ years, Eric was the maestro/music director of the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra from 2015-2022. In addition to thousands of performances, he's led school workshops, university lectures and music appreciation courses in classical music.
Would this artist like to be considered for a Spotlight/Speed Pitch if they are not selected to showcase?
