Showcase Description
Tina Hartt is a jazz singer with a French twist. Her bilingual spectacle offers a selection of originals, French Chansons and jazz standards sung in either or both English and French.
Born in Montreal, Hartt is eager to share the beauty of the French language through song, and compare how it differs from English. She also explains how Latin rhythms became an important ingredient in her music and how these two cultures influenced her original compositions.
Hartt is a dynamic performer. Her most powerful tool is her voice, which ranges from soft and sensual to puissant and proud. Each piece is carefully selected based on either the importance of the composer, the contribution of the composition or because she has a personal connection with the lyrics.
Throughout her show, there is a thread and celebration of femininity. She reflects on how her weaknesses became her strengths, and how embracing french helped her find home.

Tina Hartt presents an interactive 60 minute vocal workshop geared towards beginner and intermediate jazz vocalists interested in exploring the basic concepts of improvising / scatting.
