Membership

Join the MPAC Network

Membership in the Montana Performing Arts Consortium means joining a statewide network of people and organizations working toward a shared goal: bringing meaningful, high-quality performing arts experiences to communities across Montana.

MPAC works best when members are engaged. Beyond annual dues, our network is strengthened through collaboration, shared learning, feedback, and collective action. When members participate—by block-booking together, sharing resources, exchanging ideas, and inviting others into the network—everyone benefits.

With MPAC, no place is too small for big art.

Supporting Montana's Touring Ecosystem

MPAC membership creates value in different ways for different members, depending on their role, size, and community context.

Montana’s performing arts ecosystem depends on cooperation. Many communities—especially small and rural ones—face challenges related to geography, capacity, funding, and staffing. MPAC exists to help bridge those gaps by connecting people who are doing similar work at very different scales.

For emerging and rural presenters, membership increases access to arts programming by pooling effort and leverage. This makes it possible to share costs, coordinate tours, and bring professional artists to communities that could not do so alone. Membership also helps build local capacity by providing access to resources, tools, and information tailored to nonprofit presenting organizations.

For larger organizations, agencies, and established presenters, it offers a way to extend the impact of their work by leading and supporting tours that reach many communities.

For artists, agents, service organizations, and affiliates, membership provides visibility, connection, and insight into how performing arts touring works in Montana.

The MPAC community is most powerful when its members are engaged and working together toward a shared purpose.

What Membership Looks Like in Action

The MPAC network supports year-round participation. While the annual Artist Showcase & Conference is an important convening point, attendance is not required to maintain membership. Organizations and companies can join at any time and engage in ways that make sense for their role, capacity, and goals.

Participation may include:

  • Coordinating block-booking and routing with other members

  • Sharing news, resources, and opportunities with the network

  • Participating in professional development and learning opportunities

  • Providing feedback that helps shape MPAC programs and services

  • Serving on committees or contributing to field-wide initiatives
