Showcase Description

The second third of "The One" opens with a confession — a raw, humorous revelation about modern dating and the impossible quest to find “true love.” What follows is a 12 minute sequence of four interconnected scenes in which Andrea slips and pivots between forms: confessional stand-up, contemporary dance, physical theater, storytelling, and spontaneous crowd work that folds the audience directly into her search.

We watch the performer navigate the absurdity, hope, delusion, and longing that shape the modern pursuit of connection. The segment culminates in one of the piece’s recurring “movement prayers,” a ritual that appears seven times throughout the show. Each iteration deepens the tension between the sacred and the comedic, tracing Andrea’s gradual transformation as she opens herself — earnestly and hilariously, to the possibility of love. Andrea brings her finely honed movement vocabulary and razor sharp comedic instincts to this latest work.
