Community & Educational Outreach

I have an extensive teaching background and am happy to work with schools, venues or service organizations to create the kind of outreach experience they would like. Options include: excerpt performances, arts immersion experiences of 1-2 hours, or workshop experiences of 3-4 hours.

Is an outreach performance included in your mainstage performance fee?

Mainstage performance fees cover performing artist costs and outreach activities are available at additional price for paying teaching artists. An example of this fee scale would be:
Excerpt Performance - $150
1-2 hour arts immersion - $250
3-4 hour workshop - $450
Artist lectures, presentations, or Q&As with the choreographer can be negotiated under the mainstage performance fee.

Showcase Description

“Turtles All the Way” is a dance of hope and resilience. Through enthralling original movement, dancers tell the intermittently humorous and macabre story of the revivification of the Floreana tortoise.
The giant tortoise of Floreana Island in the Galapagos was hunted to extinction by 1840. But in 2000, researchers on Isabela Island, 40 transoceanic miles away, found tortoises with Floreana’s genetic signature; at some point, a castaway population settled on Isabela Island, leaving enough genetic material to usher the giants back home.
Turtles and tortoises have long inspired human imagination: they are bearers of the world, symbols of patience and persistence, and possessors of sacred geometry. “Turtles All the Way” celebrates their cultural significance, unique physiology, and the story of Floreana tortoise. It is a celebration of unexpected victories; in our dark times, this piece dares to hope for the chaotic serendipity that may lead to a flourishing future.
