Which membership should I have?

 

Click on the option below that best describes your role in Montana's performing arts and touring field. 

PRESENTER

Examples: Alberta Bair Theater, Chouteau County Performing Arts, Belt Performing Arts Center 

If you represent a community that does not have a formal organization yet, choose this option and select "Emerging Arts Organization" membership 

ARTIST

Example: comedian, musician, band/ensemble, theater group, dance group, story-telling artist

AGENCY

Example: Cubbyhole Artists, EPIC Arts Management

SERVICE ORGANIZATION

Example: Creative West, Montana Arts Council

AFFILIATE ORGANIZATION

Example: libraries, symphony organizations, schools, school districts, community centers 

Presenter Membership

For organizations that book professional performing artists for a seasonal series.

Who it’s for

  • Nonprofit or for-profit presenting organizations

  • Emerging presenters building a new series

  • Typically 3+ events in an annual season (flexible for new orgs)

 

Key details

  • Dues are tiered based on annual artist fee budget

  • Conference attendance is not required, but strongly encouraged

  • Ideal for organizations actively presenting touring artists

For professional performing artists across all disciplines.

  • Artists of all genres: music, dance, theater, comedy, storytelling, variety, and more

  • Self-represented artists and artists with management

  • Artists based anywhere in the world

  • Discounted membership available for Montana-based artists

  • Membership does not guarantee a showcase slot

  • Conference attendance is not required, but strongly encouraged

Agency Membership

For artist agencies and management companies representing multiple artists.

 

Who it’s for

  • Agencies or managers responsible for artist bookings

  • Companies representing one or more touring artists

  • Domestic and international agencies welcome

 

Key details

  • Agencies may join and register for the conference on behalf of their roster

  • One (1) login email per agency membership

  • Conference attendance is not required, but strongly encouraged

  • Designed for organizations that support artists and/or presenters

  • Conference attendance is not required, but strongly encouraged

Affiliate Organization Membership

For organizations that present or host artists outside a traditional presenter series model.

  • Schools booking campus or outreach performances

  • Libraries offering performing arts programming

  • Nonprofits hosting special events (galas, fundraisers, celebrations)

  • Symphony orchestras booking artists for special concerts or events

  • Community centers, house concert hosts, and outreach presenters

 

Key details

  • Conference attendance is optional and not always necessary

  • Members can still:

    • Use MPAC directories

    • Participate in block-booking

    • Connect with touring artists to bring performances to their communities​​

    Affiliate Organization Membership is for organizations that book touring performers in Montana but do not have the typical presenter series business model.

Vendor Membership (Launching Next Year)

For businesses and professionals that provide goods or services to the performing arts field.

 

Who it’s for

  • Production, technical, and event service providers

  • Marketing, design, PR, and communications firms

  • Consultants, grant writers, and fundraising professionals

  • Equipment rental companies, ticketing services, and software providers

  • Other businesses serving presenters, artists, and arts organizations

 

Key details

  • Designed for visibility within MPAC’s statewide performing arts network

  • Inclusion in the MPAC Vendor Directory

  • Opportunities to connect with presenters, artists, and agencies

  • Conference attendance is not required, but strongly encouraged
