Tap Into Soul Lights Up Belt, MT

Updated: 2 days ago

For one unforgettable weekend, the Belt Performing Arts Center came alive with rhythm, soul, and fast footwork as Solomon Jaye brought his electrifying show Tap Into Soul to central Montana.

Blending multi-octave vocals with world-class tap dancing, Tap Into Soul moves effortlessly across generations—celebrating classic soul favorites while weaving in contemporary hits. Backed in Belt by Great Falls native Dylan Bautista, a jazz piano professor at the University of Montana, the performance became a true collaboration between touring artistry and local talent. When artists like Bautista share the stage with touring performers, audiences get to experience professional, high-caliber work right here at home—strengthening the cultural vitality of communities like Belt and Great Falls.

Audience response was immediate and heartfelt. One attendee summed up the experience by sharing, “Solomon Jaye was not only a talented multifaceted performer, but also a messenger of goodwill at a time when we need a reminder that we have much more in common than not.”

Beyond the mainstage performance, Solomon spent time connecting with students during outreach activities, leaving a lasting impression on young audiences. Reflecting on his visit, Solomon shared, “This might be one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen in this country. I grew up on the Gulf, so spending time in the mountains was incredible.” He also spoke warmly of the hospitality he experienced in Belt, describing the Ranches at Belt as peaceful and welcoming, and noting how supported he felt by the local team and community.

From a presenter perspective, Solomon was a joy to work with—flexible, responsive, and bringing boundless energy both onstage and off. His talent, warmth, and bright personality resonated with audiences of all ages, from seasoned theatergoers to kids proudly leaving with signed hoodies and sneakers.

Tap Into Soul was more than a performance—it was a reminder of how live arts experiences can bring people together, spark joy, and create meaningful connections between artists and communities. We look forward to welcoming Solomon Jaye back to Montana again.

Thank you to Solomon Jaye and the Belt community for sharing this news with us!
